Communication is a learned skill.

Effective two-way communication takes into account all the factors that affect the sender and receiver including the message, channel, code and the type. This process requires a vast repertoire of skills in intrapersonal and interpersonal processing, listening, observing, speaking, questioning, analysing, and evaluating.

There are many common barriers to successful communication in the modern age which compound the achievement of shared understanding.   The ability to see beneath the surface and operate within the 7 step framework can make the difference between ineffectual and effectual exchanges, which ultimately impacts the achievement of our outcomes.
