Australian Government initiatives in support of workplace training
Under the New Apprenticeship/ Traineeship program, employers may be entitled to Government support for each eligible employee enrolled into a workplace traineeship. This program may provide substantial financial incentives that encourage employers to open up genuine opportunities for skills based training for employees.

The general eligibility criteria for employers to receive these incentives are:
- Australian citizen
- No prior qualification above a Certificate II
- Existing employee either full-time or permanent part-time
- Work a minimum of 15 hours per week
Please check with your New Apprenticeships Centre (NAC) to find out more on available incentives and other assistance to employers and trainees. NACs also process all the relevant applications including the National Training Contract.
