Essentials of Management
Outline
Most modern EAs are in essence ‘managers without specific portfolio'. Essentially they manage ‘Executive Operations' - the tasks, projects and activities of the executive or executives they work with. Sometimes with direct reports of their own, often managing specific projects or project teams, either way the role now involves much greater management ability than in past generations.
This course introduces those who may have found themselves in the role of a manager but with no formal training to some basic management theory and essential guidelines to being a more effective manager.
Everyone approaches management in a different way - an unavoidable result of personality type. But we can all learn how to manage others irrespective of our own management style or theirs.
No course can teach what many managers have been struggling to learn over many decades. But with the fundamentals you will be able to return to your office and the teams you work with having gained some solid grounding in management theory and some great tools and guidance for use as your management role develops.

If you are an EA or PA who already manages a team of staff or at various times gets thrown a project and a project team to manage then this course is a must for you. Management is probably the hardest
