Event & Project Management Principles for EAs or PAs

Outline

Most senior Executive or Personal Assistants are essentially managers without specific portfolio, often being required to take on any project or task at the drop of a hat as required by their executive.

Event management involves the project management of a specific event or specific project.  It is therefore essential that EAs and PAs understand the principals of effective Project Management and the unambiguous steps needed to ensure projects are effectively managed if they are to have the desired outcomes.

Develop a strategic approach to considering all projects plus learn key principles for delivering on any initiative that has a set timeframe and costs.  Identify the true needs and intended benefits of the project.  Learn how to set down unambiguous steps that will deliver results but require time and commitment.  Understand how to gain essential buy-in across different business units and functions by learning about project management teamwork and leadership.  Finally, learn principles for evaluating the cost and time benefits for the effort, commitment and resources utilised by the project.
